With a profound commitment to building winning programs and a rich background in coaching at the high school, collegiate, and semi-professional levels, Coach Waters brings a fresh vision and extensive experience that will elevate our football program.

A Journey Rooted in Passion and Excellence
Born and raised in the heart of Massachusetts, Coach Waters kicked off his athletic journey as a three-sport athlete in high school in Waltham. His deep-rooted connection to our region set the stage for a coaching career characterized by dedication and success. Starting at Newton South, he soon made his mark at respected institutions like Billerica Memorial, Southeastern Regional, and Bentley University—each program benefiting from his innovative approach and leadership.

A Proven Record of Success
Returning to Billerica in 2021 as Offensive Coordinator, Coach Waters orchestrated exponential growth for the program. His leadership was instrumental in driving the team to:

Two MVC League Championships
Four Division Section Championship appearances since 2017
Back-to-back 8-2 records
A memorable upset at the iconic Fenway Park

Beyond the Gridiron
Coach Waters’ expertise isn’t confined solely to football. He has also contributed significantly as an assistant coach for the AB Boys Lacrosse program, helping to continue its strong tradition of excellence. His multifaceted coaching background and versatile approach to team dynamics make him a true asset to our athletic family.

Mike Morris

JV and Varsity WR/RB Coach

Hello, my name is Mike Morris and I am the Head JV and WR/RB coach. This will be my 7th season as a Varsity Assistant Coach. For my day job, I teach PE and Health here at AB where I am also the Varsity Basketball Head Coach, and JV Baseball Head Coach. I graduated from ABRHS in 2011.

Dave Crocker

Co-Offensive Coordinator/QB Coach

Dave Crocker is a 2006 graduate of Acton-Boxborough, where he played both lacrosse and football under Hall of Fame Head Coach Bill Maver. Dave was a captain and 3-year starter, playing quarterback and defensive back during a period that included 4 consecutive MIAA State Titles and a still-active State Winning Streak of 52 consecutive games. During this entire era, the program won 13-straight Dual County League titles and went to the state title game 10 times, winning 5 of them. Dave played both baseball and football at Norwich University, before commissioning in the United States Navy as both a rotary-wing aviator and intelligence officer. Dave spent 7 seasons coaching at the youth and middle school levels. He holds a B.S. in Sports Medicine and M.S. in Sport Psychology. He works privately in the biotech sector.
